          | CDS Curing Systems |
          | For some time now I have been searching the
concrete equipment market - worldwide - for the ultimate curing
system for Precast Concrete products. I have now found it in the
UK CDS Curing Systems of Stoke on Trent, UK. Existing curing systems on the market work pretty
well and the results of temperature and humidity controlled curing
are increasingly well known in the Industry. Those of you who have
attended my training courses will know
that I am verging on the `evangelical about curing and its
many benefits which are: · Increased possibilities for cement substitution
and cost reduction, · Virtual elimination of efflorescence due
to low surface evaporation & an enriched CO2 atmosphere, · Brighter and consistent colours, more durable
concrete with a more abrasion resistance surface · Much faster early strength gain
allowing easy handling at 12 hours and possibilities for on line
post processing (rumbling, shotblasting, polishing etc.) One of the key elements of curing is that the temperature
and humidity should not only be controlled to follow a preset temperature/humidity/time
condition, but that all the concrete in the curing chamber should
be evenly exposed to this preset environment. Unless special care
is taken to ensure that the curing area or chamber is free from
stratification and free from the direct localized injection of steam
or wet humid air onto the product then the actual benefits
of warm humid curing can be reduced markedly. Hot air rises and
cold air falls. CDS Curing Systems offer full temperature/humidity
and time control plus full low velocity air circulation and recirculation
to maintain a constant curing condition at all locations within
the curing system. One major benefit of this is that, provided there
are no cold bridges at any point in the curing chamber there is
no risk of condensation within the chamber and therefore the racks
do not experience accelerated corrosion. CDS have supplied Drying Systems in the ceramic
& heavy clay (bricks, roof tiles and pipes) industry for 18
years. Also, during this period CDS have been supplying sophisticated
& reliable cost effective curing systems to the market leaders
in the concrete roof tile industry where early strength is paramount.
In the last 3 years CDS have supplied curing systems & racks
to one of the leading UK block paving and flag manufacturers on
both new and existing block and flag plants. A spin off from this
co-operation is that CDS can supply and erect complete curing racks
, with doors, insulation, all ductwork, rails plus, of course,
their fully controlled curing system. CDS offers:

 · Curing systems - large and small - to suit
all budgets and all applications · Full control of temperature, humidity,
time, air circulation and curing chamber doors · Years of experience in the ceramic, clay
& concrete industries reliable, robust systems · UK based for spares and backup and full
turnkey installation and start up facilities Visit www.ceramic-drying.co.uk

          | WASA |
          | WASA have had great success worldwide with their UNIPLAST plastic
pallets - offering long life, smooth homogenous surface, very good
compaction - better product strength, higher outputs, eliminates draw
plates. The surface can be reground and the whole pallet recycled.

They also do hardwood and softwood pallets.

In the UK and Eire, UNIPLAST pallets have 'taken the market by storm'
and most of the leading block plant users are moving over to UNIPLAST.

We have several UK companies who have replaced or are in the process
of replacing existing pallets with UNIPLAST to get immediate quality
benefits - better strength, better surface finish, lower cycle time
over both plywood and softwood pallets.

WASA's order book for UNIPLAST pallets is long and potential users
should plan well ahead to be able to change the pallets over at a
            convenient and acceptable time.

For those preferring the proven HARDWOOD and SOFTWOOD pallets, WASA
is a leading manufacturer. They have developed several new techniques
to improve the performance of both hard and softwood pallets, including
new tongue and groove and 'multiple toothed' joints to give a smooth
            no 'gap' joint.
